Contract Specialist
Salary: $55,000.00 Annually
Description
This is professional work that involves the monitoring and/ or managing of the policies and procedures as it pertains to the procurement of supplies, equipment and services. Under the direction of the Director of Property and Procurement, the Contract Specialist would assist in the development and management of contract files, development of request for proposals, monitoring vendor performance, terminations and close outs and other duties as it relates to the Virgin Islands Department of Education's procurement contractual needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages intake of procurement request;
- Maintains a listing of procurement actions, completion status, due dates and actions items;
- Assist in developing contract agreements;
- Monitors and audits contracts to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws;
- Develop and maintain monitoring schedules and statistical tables as per grant requirements;
- Compile reports required by management and grant programs;
- Provide administrative support for the Director in Procurement meetings;
- Provide service to vendors and program managers by answering questions, providing information and assuring appropriate follow-through and/ or resolution
- Maintains confidentiality of procurement matters;
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or other related field with a two (2) years or more progressive relevant experience in research, statistical analysis or technical writing.
