RECEIVING OFFICER-Temporary (1 Year Employment) STX

Description
Supervisory work in organizing and directing receiving activities of a major agency, in addition to the assignment of inventory control on all items of equipment, regardless of fund source. Work is performed in accordance with established Property and Procurements Regulations. Instruction and/or advice on difficult or unusual problems from a senior administrative officer. Administrative supervision is received from administrative or technical supervisors by means of periodic inspection, analysis of reports submitted or by competent Line Officers from the Department of Property and Procurement and/or the Department of Finance.
Duties and Responsibilities
EXAMPLE OF WORK (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE)
- Supervises a small group of laborers, engaged in receiving and transferring of equipment and/or supplies from the central receiving section within the agency.
- Checks for description and quantities received for all expendable supplies received by the agency.
- Supervises a small group of laborers engaged in uncrating, checking and coding all equipment received and being transferred to various sections.
- Supervises the completion of all Inspection Reports covering the receipt or rejection of all expendable supplies and/or equipment received.
- Keeps in contact with suppliers within and outside the Territory in order to determine when back orders might be received.
- Submit employees Time and Attendance Reports to the Chief Payroll Clerk.
- Recommends appointment of employees to the receiving section.
- Completes annual Performance Reports for employees assigned to the receiving section.
- Performs other related duties as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of elementary school supplemented by in-service training covering Stock Accounting and five years of experience in stock records activity and in storing and cataloging supplies in a large storeroom.

- Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of employees under his supervision.

- Ability to maintain routine records and to prepare reports.
